51 HIGH SCHOOL “ELISAVETA BAGRYANA”
INTRODUCTION
51st High School “Elisaveta Bagryana” was established in 1961. It started as 51st Middle school “Violeta Yakova “ and taught 632 students , the teachers were-32 , managed by Mrs Maria Georgieva. The students from the school used to work for the construction of “Slavia” (presently "Forum”) Hotel . Many transformations have happened to our school and staff throughout the years predominantly in 2004 when a headmaster became Mr. Asen Alexandrov who turned the school into A LEADER IN INNOVATION AND MODERNIZATION OF SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT.
Digital teaching has become a priority for the teachers, as digital learning is an inseparable part of students’ life. For this purpose all classrooms are equipped with plasma TVs and computers, the most modern scientific center was built , beautiful wallpapers cover the classroom walls. Shkolo.bg – a digital register, is replacing the traditional one in a much more effective way. The school maintains a website page, a number of FB pages, school TV, newspaper etc.
There are a great number of cultural and extra–curricular activities in our school – theatre, Parliament, a rock band , volleyball and football teams, RED CROSS volunteer team, BEST TEAM etc.
Traditionally we organize Christmas markets , Art Exhibitions , Trips , Theatrical performances, Musical concerts, Sport events , Maths and IT competitions, Open-doors days , A day of students’ management.
We’re running a lot of European projects – both international and local. On the local level – the project “Your hour” outnumbers 40 groups and clubs, in different extra-curricular activities. On the International level – the Comenius project “ An extra place at the table, or know each other through food” and Erasmus+ “E-tools for E-schools”, ”Seal for Innovation”, “Smart Teachers with smart Technologies “, ”Water – the blue way to life” ended very successfully .
We are proud that a large number of our students succeed in various local and international competitions. 90% of them continue their education in Universities. Our teachers continuously qualify themselves in accordance with their needs and interests.
Identifying each student’s needs and interests, placing the student in the center of the educational process and diversifying the educational resources and activities is the mission of our school.
